How to train a tutor (aka hero!) -

Writer: PCLC Director AF ReddenPCLC Director AF Redden

Updated: Sep 19, 2019

We have two ways we train and equip our new tutors. For those who enjoy in-person training, our experienced volunteer tutor trainer can schedule a series of sessions that includes the 5 W's and an H of tutoring. This type of training is usually done in our office and may be held one-on-one or as a group depending upon the need.

We also offer online training through ProLiteracy.org. Everything from the basics of tutoring to ESL instruction is available for the tutor to learn on his or her own timeline. Resources for continuing to improve your skills as a tutor are available 24/7 to help you become the best tutor possible.
