How reading changes me...

Reading for me is something that began as a 4 year old. When I read or when my mother read to me, I felt transported to a new realm. I watched the 3 little pigs deal with the wolf, Little Red Riding Hood skipping through the forest, and tigers turn to butter. The stories crept into my play time, my dreams, and my imagination.

As an adult, I still find reading a good book one of my greatest pleasures in life. However, I know that many adults never had a mom like mine who helped them learn to enjoy reading at such an early age. Perhaps a lifelong struggle with a learning disability has barred the doors to the joy of reading.

Wanting to be able to hand the key to adventure to others is my main reason for wanting to part of the PCLC experience. What's yours?
