September is Literacy Month!

Writer: PCLC Director AF ReddenPCLC Director AF Redden

In celebration of Literacy Month, we’ve been very active in the community. We had a booth at the opening of the Water/Ways Exhibit opening at the Ada Public Library.

The Director of PCLC, April Redden, participated in the Oklahoma Libraries Literacy Director’s event and then also participated in ProLiteracy’s Conference. These events helped State Directors network, learn about new technology that can help both tutors and learners, and engage with presenters of Citizenship materials, ESL materials and student testing to help place students on the right track.

We are also setting up at the PEC Day located at the Pontotoc County Agri-plex this coming Saturday! We are excited about connecting with the people of our county.

A new tutor session is already scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2019! Thinking of getting involved as a tutor? If so, this is your chance to get engaged, trained and prepared to help a person take the next step in their Literacy Journey.
